Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV)'s AGV very high speed train will be using on the Italian rail network from 2012.
The red livery, with a narrow golden stripe along the carriages, is a perfect match for the shape of the trains. Italian flags indicate the train operator’s country of origin.
In January 2008, NTV announced that it had chosen Alstom to supply and maintain 25 ultra-modern, very high speed AGV trains.

Metropolis, Megacity, Megalopolis... All of these terms aptly describe the exponential growth in urban populations. In 2012, half of the world's people live in urban areas; by 2030, city dwellers will represent two thirds of the population. This is a major change to which every operator must adjust. When it comes to improving the capacity, operating frequency and safety of their fleets - constantly bearing in mind their concern for sustainable development - rail service providers can choose from multiple options: constructing or modernising metro and tramway lines, improving signalling, acquiring new railcars or renovating old ones.
