Alstom opens a new engineering and manufacturing facility in Stafford, UK, at its Grid global centre of excellence for HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology. Part of a £40m building investment, this 30 000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility will shortly manufacture valve modules for Alstom's new generation of HVDC technology : VSC (Voltage Source Converter). The MaxSine building was opened on 23 May 2012 at a celebratory event 'Accolade 50', to mark Alstom's 50 years of design and manufacture of HVDC technology in Stafford.
